Looking for a resort that shreds the snowy competition?

Two of the top five ski resorts on the East Coast can be found on the outskirts of postcard-pretty villages in Upstate New York — one famous, and one a tiny hidden gem.

Whiteface Mountain , a giant of the Adirondacks known for hosting the Olympics, and Holiday Valley, a year-round resort in ever-charming Ellicottville , have been named among the top ski resorts on the East Coast by SKI Magazine in a ranking released last week.

Whiteface won the No. 3 spot on the list of the top 20 reader-ranked ski spots in the East for 2026. Holiday Valley followed closely, coming in at No. 4.

The two beloved destinations weren’t the only New York resorts voted onto the list, which included impressive spots from Quebec to Pennsylvania.
