One Akron area team came home Nov. 4 with a chance to win girls soccer state championship. The other missed it by a whisker.

Hudson knocked off Bishop Watterson 2-0 in a Division II state semifinal at Ashland High School. Archbishop Hoban dropped a tough 1-0 Division III state semifinal to Hamilton Badin at Olentangy High School in Lewis Center.
