With civic elections in the city around the corner, Mumbai BJP president Ameet Satam on Wednesday sounded an alarm-bell — apparently referring to Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the New York mayoral polls and warning against the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA)’s alleged ‘vote jihad’.
Without directly referring to Mamdani, Satam said that seeing the surnames of some mayors and witnessing the MVA’s alleged vote jihad, it is necessary to stay cautious.

“Just as the colour of some international cities is changing, after seeing the surnames of some mayors and witnessing the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s vote jihad, it seems necessary to stay cautious in the context of Mumbai..!” he wrote in a post on X.
