US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, while recalling the recent meeting with his Chinese counterpart, said that he had “never seen men so scared in their lives” as the officials accompanying Xi Jinping, adding with a laugh that he wished his own cabinet showed the same.

Speaking at a White House breakfast, Trump described how Xi’s aides stood rigidly behind him during their bilateral meeting in Busan last month. “Every one of those people were standing like this,” he said, mimicking their posture with his arms behind his back and chin raised. “They were at attention.”
