A 15-year-old boy is accused of shooting and killing a classmate outside Oak Ridge High School in October, investigators say.
Jacori Redding, the boy charged in the case, had been disciplined at least 17 times for physical altercations at school prior to the shooting.
Redding is charged as an adult with manslaughter for the Oct. 9 shooting of 16-year-old Pinien Dalmacy. The shooting happened at a park next to the high school.
The teenage shooter was scheduled to be in court Wednesday for a hearing on whether he should be held in jail until he goes on trial.
In a motion asking for pretrial detention, prosecutors write that Redding "apparently possessed the firearm an entire day while at school prior to this incident."
