CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Carbondale police responded to an incident involving an unlawful use of a weapon on November 1, 2025.

Officers were called to the 800 block of East Grand Avenue at 2:48 a.m. after a suspect reportedly threatened a victim with a firearm during a dispute.

Police said they conducted a traffic stop on the suspect's vehicle and recovered the firearm. They arrested a 17-year-old female from Carbondale.

The female was then released to her family pending an appearance in court for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, police said.

Authorities encourage anyone with information about the incident to contact the Carbondale Police Department.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
