Democrats scored major victories across the country on Nov. 4 in what they're calling a repudiation of President Donald Trump ahead of the 2026 midterms, and votes are still being counted in a tight mayoral race in Seattle.

Democratic nominees secured wins in closely watched gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey. Zohran Mamdani, the 34-year-old democratic socialist, was elected mayor of New York City , and in California, a measure to redraw the state's congressional districts to favor Democrats was approved in a landslide .
