'Tis the season for Starbucks lovers to enjoy some festive cups.

Starbucks unveiled its newest holiday cups on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The red-and-green drinkware will be available when the coffeehouse chain officially launches its 2025 holiday menu on Thursday, Nov. 6.

The designs, called Merry Apron Strings and Coffeehouse Plaid, are inspired by the aprons worn by baristas and the textures of Starbucks cafés.

"There's something unmistakably magical about that moment the cups arrive – it's as if the season officially begins," said Starbucks creative director Kristy Cameron.

Each design wraps the white cup in ribbons, plaid patterns, and warm colors meant to evoke "feelings of tradition, warmth, and celebration."

The Merry Apron Strings design highlights the shift each year from green aprons to red, while Coffeehouse Plaid gives the cups "a classic motif that complements the ribbons."

"When I see the cups have turned red, and our coffeehouses have turned red, there's a burst of energy and excitement for the season and gearing up for festivities you have ahead," said Bridget Searcy, Starbucks' associate creative director for the holiday season.

Starbucks has another reason to celebrate during the holidays.

The Seattle-based chain reported its first sales increase in nearly two years, with global same-store sales up 1% in the company's fourth quarter, which ended on Saturday, Sept. 28. The company has rolled out its "Back to Starbucks" plan throughout 2025, aiming to improve service, staffing, and café experience.

Starbucks will look to build on that momentum with its holiday menu, which brings back popular drinks like Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Latte, and Iced Gingerbread Chai. New pastry additions include the Polar Bear Cake Pop and Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread.

Red Cup Day will also return on Thursday, Nov. 13, giving customers who buy any handcrafted holiday beverage a free reusable red cup at participating locations.
