U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) has escalated her confrontation with facial recognition search engine PimEyes, sending a sharp follow-up letter to CEO Giorgi Gobronidze after the company’s initial response failed to satisfy the Senator’s concerns regarding its technology’s alleged use in doxxing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

Senator Blackburn says that PimEyes’ platform is a “vital link in the chain of potential harm,” arguing that the technology is being utilized by “leftist activists” to identify and publish personal information of federal law enforcement officers.

The Senator’s office highlighted a shocking statistic, noting that death threats against ICE officers have increased by 8,000% in fiscal year 2025.
