The city of Fontana is in the process of widening the intersection of Etiwanda Avenue with Slover Avenue and Airport Drive, improving the navigability of the area.
Senior Civil Engineer Kimberly Young said that construction on the project is slated to start in the summer of 2026, and end in the summer of 2027. She added that major utility relocations with Southern California Edison, Verizon and AT&T have been completed as well. Prior to Oct. 27 at 2:43 p.m., the Fontana Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) website indicated that construction would begin this winter and be completed next summer.
The construction plan seeks to add designated right turn lanes, as well as dual left turn lanes in all directions. Additionally, the intersection improvements will include a raised median on Salover
