HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Democrat Zohran Mamdani had a historic victory Tuesday night in New York City's mayoral election.

Across state lines in Connecticut, politicians have mixed feelings on Mamdani's win. Democrat Josh Elliot, who is running for governor, said Mamdani's campaign is an inspiration to him. The state's GOP chairman said that Connecticut's Republican party is mostly looking ahead at our gubernatorial race next year.
