LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) - Voters in the Lakota Local School District have elected an 18-year-old college freshman to their school board.
Ben Nguyen, a Lakota graduate currently attending Miami University, will serve alongside four others on the board after ballots were tallied Tuesday night. The district believes Nguyen is the youngest board member in its history.

Nguyen won the final seat on the Lakota School Board with more than 18 percent of the vote. He said he entered the race late to oppose the Lakota 37-year levy that was also on the ballot.
