ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. —
Several schools on the Northshore reported receiving vague threats Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Mandeville Police Department, officers responded to Mandeville High School after the campus received a threat over the phone. Advertisement
The school was placed on lockdown, but the situation is under control, according to Mandeville police.
Similar threats were also called into Hammond High School and Ponchatoula High School.
Those campuses were also placed on lockdown.
A message sent to parents with students at Ponchatoula High School described the threat as a "prank" and stated that the school was secure.
It is unclear whether the threats are connected at this time.
