The Salt Lake City International Airport does not expect to see any impact from the proposed reduction of air traffic shared by the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA announced Wednesday that it will reduce air traffic by 10% across 40 “high-volume” markets beginning Friday morning to maintain safety during the ongoing government shutdown.

While the reduction stands to impact thousands of flights nationwide, a Salt Lake City International Airport spokesperson said they do not expect to be directly impacted. However, flights from out of the market traveling into Utah could be affected.
