MASON, Mich. (WILX) - Election day gives voters a chance to make their voices heard on the everyday issues their community faces.
On Tuesday, thousands of Michigan residents went to the polls and cast their votes in mayoral races, millages, and school bonds.
Voters in Mason, Jackson, Stockbridge, Portland, and Ionia all approved school bond proposals on the ballot.
But voters in Owosso and Vandercook Lake, on the other hand, did not approve bonds on the ballot.
In a statement, Owosso Public Schools Superintendent Steve Brooks said:
“While the outcome of yesterday’s election is disappointing, the needs for critical facility maintenance projects such as plumbing, electrical, boilers, roofs, and ADA-compliant restrooms remain. Thank you to the community members who voted. I look forward
