OTTAWA (Reuters) -Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem said on Wednesday the proposals in the federal budget to enhance the country's productivity will yield results if they are executed well.

"These things are pointing in the right direction, but it's going to come down to execution," he said, while answering questions during a testimony before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance.

The federal budget was presented to Parliament on Tuesday laying out billions of dollars as capital investments to build infrastructure, boost productivity, defense spending and housing.
