A man will face court after he allegedly stole a fire truck in NSW and triggered a cross-border police pursuit into Victoria.
Police were told at about 8.20pm yesterday a fire truck had allegedly been stolen from Bolton Rural Fire Service sheds, near Jerilderie, in southern NSW.
NSW Police pursued the truck to Victoria, where it crossed the border at Tocumwal.
Victoria Police then took up the pursuit, tailing the truck as it travelled along the Murray Valley Highway to the Goulburn Valley Highway.
It's alleged the driver was keeping to the speed limit but did not stop.
The truck bypassed Shepparton and continued along the Goulburn Valley Highway where stop sticks were successfully deployed.
The truck continued on to the Puckapunyal Army Base as the tyres deflated.
