ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The NFL trade deadline did not go how Brandon Beane expected.

“Candidly, I would’ve lost money yesterday on the Bills doing a move, if we were in Vegas,” he said.

The deadline passing Tuesday at 4 p.m., with no moves made by the Bills.

“We’re usually very active," Beane said. "I’m very active. We put a lot of work in. Sometimes you look back when you go home last night and feel like damn, that was a waste of time.”

Beane explained at several points in Wednesday’s news conference that the Bills made many efforts to acquire players, but that ultimately it takes two to tango. Beane also emphasized that he did not want to put the team in a compromising position just to make a deal for the sake of getting one done.
