SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Tuesday, Nov. 4, voters filled three seats on the Sioux City Community School District’s school board.
Two incumbents, Bobby Michaelson and Jan George, retained their seats by finishing second and third, respectively.
The top vote getter was newcomer Cyndi Hanson. She pulled in 21% of the vote.
KTIV spoke with Hanson to see what she thinks this new leadership means for Sioux City schools.
Hanson said this new leadership is about respect, listening, and transparency.
Saying that people just want to be heard, and not ridiculed, and they know she is ready to listen.
Throughout her campaign, Hanson says the number one thing people want is transparency.
