Purdue will be without one of the most productive players in the recent history of its program when it plays No. 1 Ohio State on Saturday.

Running back Devin Mockobeewill miss the rest of the season and call it a college career following ankle surgery Friday that did not leave an opening for a return as the Boilers had hoped.

“There have been plenty of ups and downs for me in my career here at Purdue,” Mockobee wrote Monday in a social media post. “But the one thing that stayed consistent is the pride I had to put on that P and go out and give it everything I had for my family, my teammates, my coaches, the fans, and the university.
