Access to Dufferin Islands via Burning Springs Hill is closed to vehicle traffic in advance of Canada’s largest free outdoor lights festival.
Niagara Parks said the closure is required to accommodate the installation, operation and removal of displays for Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights, which runs Nov. 15 to Jan. 4.
Access to Dufferin Islands via Portage Road at Burning Springs Hill is expected to be closed until spring.
Visitors can enter the park from Niagara Parkway.
All walking trails and pedestrian bridges within Dufferin Islands will remain open to the public.
The festival will feature more than three million lights and dozens of displays along an eight-kilometre illumination route that includes Niagara Parkway, Dufferin Islands and tourist districts.
