Victoria's highest court has said Tony Mokbel is no longer a "serious drug offender" and won't be ordered to face additional jail time over a methamphetamine trafficking racket.
The underworld figure is currently out on bail and was re-sentenced over a drug scheme he ran between 2006 and 2007 on Thursday morning.
When Mokbel was sentenced to three decades in prison in 2012, his penalty included a 20-year stint for the drug operation.
However, that was today changed to time served behind bars, after the Court of Appeal reduced his sentence in the wake of the Lawyer X legal scandal and other convictions being overturned.
Mokbel is due back in court later this month on a separate drug case, although prosecutors have not confirmed whether it will go to trial. Loading
