COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio voters approved 66% of school tax issues on the ballot Tuesday, an increase from the previous year, according to unofficial results tallied by the Ohio School Boards Association.

Overall, the 2025 passage rate is a 15-point increase from the 51% approval rate seen statewide during last year’s general election .

Ohioans in recent years have seen increases in property taxes, due to historic increases of home values. Several proposals in the Ohio General Assembly attempt to tackle high property taxes. At the same time, a group of Ohioans is gathering signatures in an attempt to get a constitutional amendment on the ballot that would do away with property taxes altogether.
