SHREVEPORT, La. — A Caddo Parish jury convicted Daniel Havis, 34, of multiple sex crimes against two female juveniles on Wednesday.
The jury returned unanimous guilty-as-charged verdicts on four counts, including third-degree rape and sexual battery of a person under age 15. Prosecutors proved Havis repeatedly raped and abused the minor daughter of an acquaintance between Jan. 2020 and May 2022. He also propositioned and groped a second juvenile visitor.
Havis faces up to 25 years for the rape conviction. He is scheduled to return to District Judge Donald Hathaway Jr.'s court for sentencing on Nov. 18.
