A Massachusetts man was sentenced to life in prison without parole nearly four years after his girlfriend's body was found in a Saugus marsh .

Jurors convicted Bruce Maiben, a 48-year-old Lynn resident, of first-degree murder on Monday .

Sherell Pringle, a 40-year-old Woburn woman, was reported missing after she did not return home from a date with Maiben on Dec. 18, 2021. Family and friends found her body two days later in the Rumney Marsh Reservation off of Route 107 in Saugus.

Pringle's mother, Pearl Garner, gave a victim impact statement at Maiben's sentencing hearing Wednesday.
