BEATRICE, Neb. ( NCN ) - A two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning sent one man to the hospital after a teenager driving a Volkswagen SUV ran a stop sign.
Just before 7 a.m., deputies responded to Sixth Street and Highway 77 in Cortland.
Gage County Sheriff’s deputies say a 16-year-old driver failed to stop at a stop sign on Sixth Street and collided with a GMC Yukon heading southbound on Highway 77.
The driver of the Yukon, Dylan Bowland of Auburn, swerved in an attempt to avoid the crash, but his vehicle was struck, spun and rolled several times, causing him to be ejected from the vehicle, deputies said.
According to deputies, Bowland was not wearing a seatbelt and admitted to speeding. He was transported by EMS to Bryan West Hospital for treatment.
