LINCOLN — Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers, in a new lawsuit, alleged that six national “dark money” groups had directly or indirectly funneled campaign donations from a foreign national to Nebraska ballot measures.

Much of that money has come since 2022, when state lawmakers passed a bill to close a “loophole” for indirect, foreign donations.
