RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- With SNAP benefits on hold and growing expenses, many local families are struggling to make ends meet.
To help, one local organization in Racine is providing more than just fresh groceries for families in need.
“A community that sticks together is going to thrive," said Jennie Macphail, a parent in the Fuel 4 Thought Program. "I mean that’s what community is.”
On Wednesday nights, the organization Failure is Not an Option (FINAO) holds Fuel 4 Thought, a program with a goal of creating community and hope for children and their parents.
"It's really hard right now," said Kim Zelko, the Fuel 4 Thought coordinator with FINAO. "We do our best to make sure that we provide for everyone, include everyone."
