GILBERT, Ariz. — The family of a beloved high school football coach is taking legal action against a Gilbert mental health facility, Copper Springs East, after he died from what they say was a medication mix-up.
Kyle Slade, 39, a husband, father of four, and assistant football coach at Campo Verde High School, had admitted himself to Copper Springs East seeking help for depression back in September. What was meant to be a step toward recovery ended in tragedy, his family says.
“To those who knew him, Kyle was larger than life,” his wife, Morgan, said. “He loved his kids dearly. Those babies were his world. He was always snuggling, teaching, wrestling—just being the best dad.”
