Nevada has completed its 28-day recovery from a ransomware attack that forced the state to take systems offline in late August , officials said Wednesday, Nov. 5.
The Governor’s Technology Office released its 2025 Statewide Cyber Incident After-Action Report, confirming that Nevada refused to pay a ransom after the cyberattack that disrupted multiple state systems and temporarily closed several public-facing offices.
“Nevada’s teams protected core services, paid our employees on time, and recovered quickly — without paying criminals,” Gov. Joe Lombardo said in a statement.
