HAMMOND, La. (WAFB) - A months-long narcotics investigation has led to the arrest of a Ponchatoula man accused of distributing fentanyl across Tangipahoa Parish, according to the Hammond Police Department.
Officials say 37-year-old Roy “Rory” Metz of Ponchatoula was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 5, following a joint operation involving multiple agencies.
Investigators said Metz had been distributing fentanyl in both Hammond and Ponchatoula. During Wednesday’s operation, police said Metz tried to flee but was quickly caught and taken into custody without incident.
Search warrants executed at several locations connected to Metz also turned up U.S. currency, a stolen off-road vehicle, a loaded handgun, small amounts of suspected marijuana, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.
