WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Three local artists donated artwork to the Wichita Police and Fire Foundation (WPFF) to make its soft interview rooms more welcoming.

The artwork will be hung in two soft rooms at the new Wichita Police Department Patrol East Substation.

WPFF says the goal of the room is to create a safer and less intimidating environment that'll make it easier for victims to report crimes.

"Soft interview rooms are dedicated rooms that the public and Wichita Police Officers can sit in that are comfortable and designed to help victims of crime feel safer and more at ease with giving a statement," WPFF said in a release. "They contrast with traditional, sterile rooms with comfortable seating, comfortable furniture, calming colors and sensory items like blankets and pillows."
