A teen faces armed burglary charges after escaping an attempted home invasion on Wednesday, according to Huntsville Police.
Police say they responded to the 700 block of Triana Avenue shortly after 2:30 p.m. for a possible home invasion. Officers say they found the homeowner unharmed when they arrived at the scene.
According to investigators, the suspect entered the home armed with a gun and demanded money but fled on his bike when the homeowner refused to give him any.
Police say they quickly located the suspect at a hotel on the 3100 block of University Drive at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Huntsville Police say the 17-year-old suspect was charged with first-degree burglary and was booked into the Madison County Jail.
