Pig suits, the Grim Reaper and crocodile carnage are among the tableaus that have defined the five-decade political career of Bob Katter.
However, a new image will forever adorn the walls of the Queensland MP's workplace since 1993, with an official portrait unveiled at Parliament House in Canberra on Thursday.
Mr Katter chose not to see the portrait before its unveiling but told reporters afterwards the honour should not be seen as an indication his time in politics was coming to an end.
"Not at all," the 80-year-old said, asked if he would be hanging up his signature Akubra any time soon.
"I'm still doing an 80-hour week, much to the horror of my staff."
Tributes aplenty flowed from Anthony Albanese before the unveiling, with the prime minister also commending the patience of artist
