BORCULO, Mich. — The owners of a New York company say their battery energy storage plant will help with the demand for electricity and provide extra money for Ottawa County's Blendon Township.
But dozens who showed up at a public hearing Wednesday night don't want it.
Key Capture Energy is behind the proposal and says the facility would be used to store power during periods of low demand and put that energy back into the grid.
Representatives from the company were at the public hearing to give a presentation on the project and respond to previous public comment.
They addressed concerns surrounding health and environmental safety.
