CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Neighbors from Ohio City, Tremont, and Detroit-Shoreway gathered for a community meeting hosted by Cleveland City Councilwoman Lauren Welch and Cleveland Second District Commander Tim Maffo-Judd to learn about the solutions for the recent rash of car break-ins.

“Keep your junk in your trunk was the old saying. I say keep everything out of your car,” Maffo-Judd said. “If there’s nothing to see or look for, we do see in videos kids looking in and then smashing and taking, so it leads us to believe they are looking for something.”

Maffo-Judd said guns have been stolen from some vehicles.

He added officers are making arrests in these crimes.

“We’ve made 58 arrests since November of last year,” Maffo-Judd said. “Twenty-three of them have been made since September. T
