OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority is moving into the next phase of its controversial Turnpike expansion plans, but they want to make sure they don't run into any unexpected hiccups.
They are now asking for the public's help as they look to begin construction next year.
The east-west connection would go from I-44 near Newcastle, between Moore and Norman, then connect the Kickapoo Turnpike out by Newalla.
It is being built in three phases.
The OTA says it needs public input to complete the design for phase two, so everything goes smoothly.
"We're just really looking for some comments about what traffic is like now and what they're hoping to see as far as improvements for this interchange," Lisa Shearer-Salim with the OTA said.
