Journalist Gurpyar Singh kidnapping: Nayagaon police on Wednesday said that journalist Gurpyar Singh, who was abducted Tuesday night from a news channel office located in Shivalik Vihar, was rescued safely around 211 kilometres away in Kotkapura, Faridkot district.

Police sources said two men dressed as Nihang arrived at the office, forced Gurpyar Singh into their car, and fled the scene.

As soon as the information was received, the police launched an investigation and registered a kidnapping case.

Sources said CCTV footage from the channel’s basement office showed two men in Nihang robes shaking hands with the journalist before walking out. A few moments later, Gurpyar Singh followed them outside, after which he was forcibly taken away in a Haryana-registered vehicle, police sources
