SRINAGAR : The Jammu Kashmir Revenue Department is facing a serious administrative crisis with 160 promotional posts of Naib Tehsildar lying vacant for several years, crippling the functioning of field offices and delaying key revenue-related work across the Union Territory. Official sources said that, 152 Girdawars, who had successfully cleared the Revenue Service Examination conducted by the Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), have been serving as “Look After Naib Tehsildars” since January 2019. However, despite fulfilling all eligibility requirements, their formal promotions are still pending due to repeated delays in convening Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings.
