The man accused of fatally stabbing an 18-year-old who allegedly kicked his shopping cart at a Georgia Walmart was on probation at the time of the incident.

Delano Middleton is charged with murder in connection with the Oct. 23 killing of J.T. Schroeder, according to court records. It is not immediately clear if he's entered a plea.

The Chatham County Police Department said Schroeder kicked Middleton's shopping cart as the latter exited the store.

Schroeder suffered multiple stab wounds and lacerations and died four days later, police said.
