Liberal MPs will return to parliament on Wednesday to thrash out a position on the party's net zero commitment ahead of a joint party room meeting with the Nationals next Sunday.

Shadow ministers will meet the next day to settle the party's position for leader Sussan Ley to take to Nationals leader David Littleproud.

A joint party room of Liberals and Nationals next Sunday, which will be held remotely, will conclude months of review of the Coalition's energy policy.

Since their devastating election defeat in May the Coalition has had its entire policy suite under review — in particular its energy and climate policies, which the Liberals and Nationals were conducting their own reviews on.
