Milan Police is investigating a shooting that happened on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 2:31 p.m. at the Mill Race Shores Mobile Home Park at 563 Allen Road, according to a statement released that evening.

Witnesses say that a man, later identified as a resident of Van Buren Township, entered the community and began allegedly shooting at homes and vehicles. The man was taken into custody at the scene, and two guns were recovered. Nobody was shot during the incident.

"An acquaintance of the suspect resides in the community," Milan Police Chief Don Tillery said in a statement. "However, there is no clear motivation for the shooting."

"This was a highly dangerous situation that was averted due to the bravery and quick actions of our Milan police officers," said Milan's mayor, Ed Kolar.
