NEW DELHI: Anil Agarwal-led Vedanta Ltd on Thursday said that its has entered into a pact with Tamil Nadu power distribution company TNPDCL for supply of 500 MW of electricity at the rate of Rs 5.38/kWh.
In a statement Vedanta said that its thermal business units Meenakshi Energy Limited (MEL) and Vedanta Limited Chhattisgarh Thermal Power Plant (VLCTPP) have secured a 500 MW power purchase agreement with Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (TNPDCL).
Under the agreement, MEL will supply 300 MW, and VLCTPP 200 MW to TNPDCL.
The five-year contract, effective from February 1, 2026 to January 31, 2031, has been awarded at a tariff of Rs 5.38/kWh, Vedanta said.
