Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Varanasi on November 8, expanding India’s high-speed rail network across key regions in the North and South.
The new services will operate on the Banaras–Khajuraho, Lucknow–Saharanpur, Firozpur–Delhi, and Ernakulam–Bengaluru routes. These additions aim to enhance regional connectivity, reduce travel time, and promote tourism and trade.
The Banaras–Khajuraho train will connect spiritual and cultural hubs like Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, and Khajuraho. It will save nearly 2 hours and 40 minutes compared to current services and provide direct access to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Khajuraho.
