DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Our warming trend will continue through the end of the week, but our first freeze of the season looms.

Thanks to an increased southerly flow, our air is muggier, and areas of patchy to dense fog have developed. A dense fog advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m.

Temperatures will warm quickly once the sun rises and fog clears, with highs making a run for the 80 degree mark through Saturday.

For your Friday and Saturday, there is a low-end risk of severe weather across our area as an area of low pressure moves through. Damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, small hail, and an isolated (weak) tornado or two are the main hazards.

By Sunday, a strong cold front will approach our area, bringing the coldest air of the season so far through midweek.
