A busy Greater Manchester junction has suffered lane closures due to "urgent" gas repairs, causing huge delays for commuters this week.

The affected area is where Kingsway ( A34 ) meets Gatley Road (A5660) in Cheadle , Stockport . The junction already faces delays during peak times, but lane closures have caused a major disruption.

From 8pm on Monday evening (November 3), two lanes of the southbound A34 carriageway have been closed at the Gatley Road junction so that the necessary repairs can be completed.

One lane remains open, allowing vehicles to go straight ahead or turn left, but no right turns have been possible.
