The Toledo Symphony will perform the Sixth Symphony of Gustav Mahler at the Peristyle on Friday and Saturday. Composed in the first decade of the 20th century and subtitled “Tragic,” the work, according to a description, “unfolds with epic ambition and a charged emotional arc that defies easy summary” and is “music that builds and breaks, surges and questions.” The performance begins at 8 p.m. both nights at the theater, which is located at 2445 Monroe St. inside the Toledo Museum of Art.
