BAY CITY, MI — A Bay City man is spending his 21 st birthday in court as attorneys spar on whether his killing of a man at Baytown Family Neighborhood constituted murder or manslaughter.

Jurors tasked with clearing up the discrepancy were seated Nov. 4 in the trial of Jai’Mari K. Campbell. Campbell is charged with open murder in the October 2024 shooting death of 26-year-old Toryon T. Patterson.
