The nun who penned "Dead Man Walking," the novel that became an Academy Award-winning picture, will participate in a panel discussion Tuesday at Loyola University's College of Law.
Sr. Helen Prejean will share her insights on the new graphic novel edition of her best-selling book about the death penalty in the United States at 6 p.m. at the Uptown university's law school, 526 Pine St., room 308.
The original book, published in 1993, remained on the best-seller list for 31 weeks. It was later turned into the movie, a play and an opera.
Joining her will be Catherine Anyango Grünewald, the illustrator, and Rose Vines, special projects director for the Ministry Against the Death Penalty and scriptwriter for the graphic novel. Copies will be available for purchase and signing.
