Sinn Féin Finance spokesman Pearse Doherty said the 2026 package was unfair to ordinary workers at a time of a cost of living crisis – to which the Government had contributed by not indexing tax bands, increasing the cost of petrol and diesel, cutting student supports, and increasing the Local Property Tax.
